COOKING MY WAY THROUGH PINTEREST // NUTELLA-STUFFED BROWN BUTTER + SEA SALT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Recipe here at Ambitious Kitchen.

During the week I try and eat pretty healthy. Mostly vegetables, fruits, and whole grains with little to no animal products. I read the book The China Study and watched Forks Over Knives on Netflix at the encouragement of my super-healthy friend Sarah and it completely changed the way I was eating. Most of the recipes I make (or plan on making) during the week, I store on this pinterest board.

However, once a week, I like to try making something off of this other pinterest board. Something that isn't necessarily that healthy (though it could be), but that I really feel like photographing. Lately, I've been just wanting to photograph desserts, but I'm hoping it's just a phase (after a week of cookie eating, I'm not feeling so hot) and that I'll be more inspired to shoot veggies soon!

Anyways, these cookies were unbelievably delicious - probably the best cookies I've ever baked. I highly recommend them - just balance them out with some green juice in the morning! :)

CLEM'S FANCY PAWS PORTRAITS...

I realized recently that I never shared Clem's Fancy Paws photos - so here are a few of them. And you can see more adorable dog photos here. I'm so in love! I think I'll probably make prints and hang them in my future nursery someday for my future babies. I think there will be more Fancy Paws sessions scheduled soon, so keep an eye out for them - it's a really fun day for a really great cause!

Sorry I haven't blogged much lately - wedding season is starting and things are getting busy, but I'll be posting more soon - I promise! And, as always, you can keep up with my latest wedding-related work here.

JENNY WEAVER | LET IT BREAK | ALBUM PHOTOGRAPHY

I shot these photos recently for Jenny Weaver's debut album, Let it Break. It's available on iTunes, so I strongly encourage you to follow the link I just gave you and check it out! She's a really amazing country music singer and songwriter and even plays the ukelele which when combined with her dreamlike voice, lends some of her songs this beautiful, nostalgic, 1950s kind of sound. Which I love, because I grew up listening to all that older music (true story: I used to argue with kids in my 2nd grade class that Buddy Holly was so much cooler than NKOTB - they had no clue what I was talking about). Anyways, somewhere between country music and an early Elvis-Presley-in-Hawaii movie lies Jenny Weaver and I totally dig it.

I took the photos, but all the beautiful design was done by the fabulous Karla Baker.

So if you love this album like I do, and you realize that at under $8 it's a total steal, and you feel really warm and fuzzy when you support super talented local artists, then what are you waiting for?! ;)
